An extraordinary era on campus is coming to a close as Bob Albers will be retiring this summer. His many contributions and his commitment to MSU and Media Sandbox will be recognized at several special events. ComArtSci, the Department of Media and Information, and WKAR will celebrate his contributions as a teacher and mentor with a special event on Monday, May 1, 2017, to which you are most welcome (please RSVP at http://bobalbers.eventbrite.com).
While Bob knows about this retirement party in general, we would like to keep details of the program somewhat opaque. A key feature at this event will be a video with testimonials from his colleagues, students and alums. We need your help and input for this project to succeed.
We request that you consider recording a short video snippet, sharing your experiences with Bob the mentor, Bob the teacher, Bob the documentarian, Bob the philosopher, Bob the musician, Bob the task master or Bob the …. As well, we welcome any existing clips from times past, should you have any. To allow editing, we hope to receive your short messages before Friday, April 21, 2017.
Please do not send video files via email. Instead, we suggest using one of these options:
1. Dropbox. – If you have a Dropbox account (Dropbox.com), or would like to sign up for one, move/transfer the video file into your Dropbox folder. It will then begin to upload. Right-click on the file in the Dropbox folder and choose “Share…” and you can then input the emails email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com. This will share the file with us.
2. WeTransfer. If you don’t have a Dropbox account and don’t want to sign up for one, you could use https://wetransfer.com which will allow you to upload the file and send it. First, click the blue plus with “Add your Files” to upload the video file. Then, input firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org for the “Email to” and your email for the “Your email” portion.
3. Mail. Dropbox and WeTransfer are the preferred options but if you are having upload issues, you can send us a DVD to:
