WHAT WE DO > CURRICULUM > CAS 205: MEDIA PHOTOGRAPHY

ABOUT THE CLASS

In CAS 205 we learn how to enhance, modify and retouch digital images using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. There will be an introduction about cameras and lenses; however, CAS 205 is not a photography class but one that focuses primarily on how to manipulate existing images.

In Lightroom we cover how to import and organize photos, retouch away blemishes, adjust exposure and contrast, as well as modify and sharpen details. We also learn how to publish enhanced photos on social media websites such as Facebook and Flickr directly from Lightroom.

In Photoshop, we work on photos that got corrected in Lightroom and make further modifications to them with filters, blending modes and effects. We learn about layout and composition and also touch upon pop art design. Finally, we see how the software is used in the web and in print.

There are weekly assignments in this class and one final project.

1 credit course.
